Her Mother: Amanda "Mandy" Cornett Teefey

Born: April 16, 1976 in Dallas, Texas
Playing an active role in supporting Selena and her dreams, Amanda Cornett Teefey gave birth to Selena Gomez on July 22, 1992 in New York when Amanda was just 16 years old. She married Richardo Joel Gomez, but they divorced when Selena was five years old. This left Amanda living "paycheck to paycheck", trying to support her daughter while growing up. Amanda's persistent and hardwork sure paid off. Because she was also a part time stage actress in Dallas, she inspired and sparked Selena to try out at acting as well. In 2004 Amanda was part of a Coordinating team for DNA productions, working on animated films such as Ant Bully. 2006 marked a big year for Amanda, when in additon to marrying Brian Teehey, she also opened a production company with him, July Moon productions.

Her Stepfather: Brian Teefy

Born: 1979 in Detroit, Michigan
On May 18, 2006 Brian Teefy was officially a part of Selena's family when he married Amanda Cornett. Most of Brian Teefy's family is also from his birthplace, Detroit. Brian has a number of notable qualities behind him, including being a star athlete at his high school as well as a graduate from the Wayne University in Detroit.




Her Biological Father: Richardo Joel Gomez

From Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Richardo married Amanda as a teenage bridge, but the marriage only lasted until Selena was five years old. It is reported that he is the one who gave Selena the purity ring which says "True Love Awaits" when Selena was 12.
